CPIML MLA Satyadev Ram raised the issue of the double murder of two girls in Purkhopatti (Bahadurpur Block, Darbhanga District). He said that the two girls who had gone to Purkhopatti to cut grass where they were raped and murdered on 15 February. A case of 'missing persons' has been registered in this matter and an SIT has been constituted. However, no concrete action has been taken so far. He demanded an answer from the government on this question and asked for a CBI enquiry be recommended in view of the seriousness of the matter.
It should be noted that a month has passed since the incident but the police and administration have neither made any breakthrough nor any arrests. CPIML MLAs had visited the victim families a few days ago and assured them that they would raise the matter inside the Assembly.
