On 20 March 2022 at about 4.30 in the evening about 15-20 dominant caste criminals went to the home of Mahabir Ram in Batsara village, Padwa Block, Palamu District, hurled casteist abuse and brutally beat him and members of his family. Mahabir Ram was injured and a car parked at his house was damaged. No action against the perpetrators was taken even 12 hours after an FIR was registered at Padwa Thana.
A CPIML-AIKM team met the victim family and condemned the inhuman incident in the strongest terms. The team has demanded that the SP should register a case under the SC/ST Act and immediately arrest the dominant section criminals and ensure that such atrocities are not repeated in future. The team comprised AIKM Palamu District President Pradeep Vishwakarma, Surendra Paswan, CPIML Block Secretary Pawan Vishwakarma and Dwarika Vishwakarma.
