The Jharkhand Rajya Vidyalaya Sangh Sahebganj District Committee held a meeting on 9 November at Chhoti Kodarjanna presided over by the union President Nirmala Devi. Chief guest Comrade Geeta Mandal, in-charge Manoj Kumar Kushwaha and Mandro Block Vice President Malti Devi were present at the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Geeta Mandal said that the Modi government is selling off valuable national assets to capitalists, and is now selling off the Midday Meal Scheme to private companies. Therefore the name has been changed to Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana and the plan is to give children boxed meals. Rasoiyas suffered great distress and many died during the Covid lockdown. The government has not paid them even their long due arrears. The PM Cares Fund accrued thousands of crores of rupees but none of it was used to alleviate the distress of Rasoiyas. If the new scheme is implemented, 80 thousand Rasoiyas in Jharkhand will lose their jobs and children will be deprived of hot freshly cooked meals.
Manoj Kumar Kushwaha said that a people's convention will be organized in front of Raj Bhawan on 14 November in which Rasoiyas from Sahebganj District will participate.
A large number of Rasoiyas workers attended the meeting, including Bibi Noor Bano, Malti Devi, Chunni Devi, Bibi Jeharanna, Kharun, Rosie Mosmat, Bibi Sahlana, Chano Mosmat, Bibi Badalnisha and others.
