The birth anniversary of Swami Sahajanand Saraswati who led farmers against the Company Raj of the British will be observed across Bihar on 11 March as Kisan Diwas and the demand for repeal of the three black farm laws will be raised. Kisan marches and meetings will be organized at District HQs on this day under the CPIML and AIKM banners. A Kisan Sammelan against the Adani-Ambani Company Raj being imposed by the Modi government, addressed by CPIML General Secretary Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya, will be held at Bihata (Patna Rural) which was Swami Sahajananda's work centre.
CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal, AIKM National Vice President KD Yadav and Joint Secretary Umesh Singh made this announcement. Comrade Kunal said that the farmers' movement is spreading from Bhagat Singh's Punjab to Swami Sahajanand's Bihar. Village level kisan panchayats are being organized across Bihar on the issues of MSP and reinstatement of the APMC Act. The AIKS has condemned the Bihar Chief Minister's statement on the farm laws in which he stands openly against farmers. The issue of much hyped Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana which makes no provision at all for landless farmers and sharecroppers will also be raised in these kisan panchayats.
