AICCTU has called for a countrywide for 'Repeal Labour Codes' which was concluded in protest sit-ins at all State capitals and District HQs on 15 February.
A dharna was organized in Nainital at the conclusion of the campaign by workers’ leaders from various unions which was addressed by ASHA Health Workers Union leader Kamla Kunjwal, Advocate Durga Singh Mehta, Dr Kailash Pandey, Durga Tamta, Bima Karmachari Union leader Manoj Gupta, AN Bhatt and others.
The leaders said that the labour codes will further push workers into slavery and make their condition from bad to worst. Women workers will be worst affected. The demands raised through the dharna include: repeal of the 4 labour codes; repeal of the 3 black farm laws; revoke 12 hour working day; minimum monthly salary for ASHA workers; government employee status for all scheme workers; lockdown relief payment for all workers; minimum wages and health insurance for unorganized sector workers; end unemployment and retrenchment.
