Farmers across the country are in crisis due to the Lockdown which has been going on for two months. Farming entails innumerable problems and their produce is either not getting sold because procurement centers are closed, or they have to sell their produce at throwaway prices to traders because government procurement has stopped. The government has given no relief to farmers during the Lockdown. On these issues, ‘Kisan Bachao Desh Bachao’ (Save Farmers, Save the Country) Day was vigorously observed and the Farmers participated in large numbers personally as well as through social media. Farmers’ organizations submitted memorandums to local authorities addressed to the Prime Minister.
