A peace and justice march was organized on 28 February in Patna by the CPIML and Insaf Manch for a 2-day state-wide protest to demand the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah responsible for the Delhi genocide and violence, the arrest of Kapil Mishra, and the reinstatement of peace and order in Delhi without delay. The meeting began with condolences for those killed in the Delhi violence. Apart from capital Patna, marches and meetings were also organized at Punpun in Patna Rural, Betiya, Hilsa, Bhabhua, Ara, Siwan, Dumraon in Buxar, and other places.

The march in Patna was led by CPIML PB member Dhirendra Jha, Legislative party leader Mahboob Alam, MLA Sudama Prasad, CC members Saroj Chaube and Shashi Yadav, Insaf Manch leader Naseem Ansari, Anita Sinha, Pannalal, Samta Rai, Madhu, Abhyuday and others.

Comrade Dhirendra Jha said that the CPIML strongly condemns the violence and arson perpetrated by BJP-RSS goons with full protection from the Delhi Police. The violence by BJP-RSS goons has claimed many lives, many are injured, and countless vehicles and shops have been torched. People’s lives as well as livelihoods are in danger. There are also reports of the death of an innocent mill-worker from Ara in Bihar. We demand the immediate arrest of BJP leader Kapil Mishra who is responsible for inciting the riots, violence and arson. We demand immediate action against the guilty and reinstatement of peace in the city.

MLA Mahboob Alam said that it is a matter of great shame that the judge who ordered FIRs against BJP leaders who made provocative hate speeches in Delhi was transferred overnight. This makes it clear that the BJP wants to repeat the 2002 Gujarat model in Delhi.

Other leaders addressing the meeting appealed to the peace-loving people across the country to raise their voice against this state-sponsored pogrom and communal violence in Delhi. We support the peaceful protests against the discriminatory CAA-NRC-NPR and against the attacks on our Constitution and our citizenship. Despite state repression and fascist violence, these protests are going on totally peacefully.

The people have given a clear and befitting reply in recent Assembly elections to attempts at communal polarization and the attempt to give a false communal color to these peaceful protests. Desperate due to these defeats, Modi-Shah are now attempting bloodshed on the streets of Delhi in reply to these peaceful protests. We strongly and unequivocally oppose all such attempts.
