Jharkhand Sahiyas Protest in Ranchi

A dharna was organized in front of the Ranchi Vidhan Sabha on 21 December 2021 on the issues of ASHA workers. The dharna was addressed by CPIML MLA Vinod Singh, former MLA from Nirsa Comrade Arup Chatterjee, AICCTU State General Secretary Comrade Shubhendu Sen, AIPWA State President Savita Singh, Jayanti Chaudhury, Poonam Mahto, Sarita Sah, Eti Tirkey, Nandita Bhattacharya and Sarita Mahto. At the conclusion of the dharna a 7-point memorandum was submitted to Health Minister of Jharkhand.

Recent heinous eye operation case in Muzaffarpur is a manifestation of deteriorating state of health care and state’s accountability towards the people, and precisely for this reason Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar owes the people of the state an answer as to why people’s lives are being played with. During Covid times also we saw the incompetence of Health Minister Mangal Pandey when we saw lakhs of people dying due to the ramshackle health system. The demand arose at that time to improve the system and eliminate loot, arbitrariness and mismanagement.

Protests against Slapping of UAPA on Advocates Mukesh Kishore and Ansar Indori


On 5th November, students, lawyers and concerned citizens of Delhi staged a protest at Tripura Bhavan against the arbitrary case of UAPA filed against Delhi based lawyers, Mukesh Kishore and Ansar Indori and the state backed anti Muslim violence taking place in the state of Tripura. The protesters marched from Assam Bhavan to Tripura Bhavan, raising slogans against the draconian UAPA and the raging violence against Muslims in the BJP ruled Tripura.

Police Raj in Bihar: Custodial Killing of Sanitation Worker in Samastipur


Sanitation worker Ramsewak Ram who was critically injured due to brutal police beating in Samastipur died on the morning of 5 November at PMCH Patna. As soon as news of the death spread, there was uproar in the District and allegations against the police were rife.

CPIML termed the death of the sanitation worker due to police beating a tight slap in the face of the government that boasts of 'sushasan'. CPIML District Secretary Prof Umesh Kumar called for 6 November a Protest Day against police killing.
