Protest in Darbhanga against BJP

A BJP MLA threatened muslim women voters inside a polling booth on the day of the poll for the parliamentary elections and tried to instigate communal tension. The said legislator from Jale in Darbhanga illegally entered inside a polling booth in Devra Bandhauli and misbehaved with women voters. He also forced women to remove their hijab. CPIML Legislative party leader in Bihar Mahboob Alam has said that there was a plan to instigate communal tension in connivance with the police. The said BJP legislator should have been booked by the police for illegally entering into the booth, on the contrary the police filed a criminal case against the aggrieved people. Comrade Mahboob Alam said that this was a planned attempt to instigate a riot and the district SP must be held accountable for not taking action against the said MLA.

Insaf Manch and CPIML held a protest on 12 June in Darbhanga demanding an investigation into the role of the BJP MLA, withdrawal of cases against the people filed at the behest of the BJP, and action against the erring police personnel. The protesters were addressed by Mahboob Alam, MLC Shashi Yadav, Dhirendra Jha and party district secretary Baidyanath Yadav along with Insaf Manch vice-president Niyaz Ahmad.

Speakers demanded to file a case against the BJP MLA and withdrawal of two FIRs filed against innocent people. They condemned the inaction by the district administration against the culprits and gave an ultimatum to intensify the protest if case is not filed against the MLA.
