Campaign in Bihar

Still there is one full month to go to polls in three constituencies where CPIML has fielded its candidates, the door to door and village to village daily mass contact teams along with the contesting candidates are receiving enthusiastic reception by the people. The campaign has started with handbills, flags and election symbol the Flag With Three Stars in villages, side by side Assembly segment level joint cadre conventions being organised unitedly by the constituent parties of INDIA alliance in all constituencies. These cadre conventions are being attended by a good number of activists from Mahagathbandhan parties who are taking responsibilities in organising various activities of the election campaign for the next full month. Comrades Dipankar Bhattacharya, Kunal, Dhirendra Jha, Amar and other CPIML leaders have also joined many of these conventions.

The campaign for the bye-election for the Agiaon assembly seat where comrade Shiv Prakash Ranjan is contesting as the Mahagathbandhan candidate is also in full swing. This bye-election is being held because of the conviction of comrade Manoj Manzil, the sitting MLA from this constituency who has been victimised along with 22 others in a false case lodged nine years ago. The campaign for justice for Badgaon-23 is also going on along with the election for this seat.

The campaign teams are also collecting election funds from the masses during the campaign. The fund collection is being done through twenty and fifty rupees coupons.

Many Star Campaigners for the CPIML have started to reach Bihar. Party’s Uttarakhand secretary Indresh Maikhuri and senior leader Prabhat Kumar have reached Patna. Delhi Secretary Ravi Rai is already taking part in the campaign in the Arrah parliamentary segment. Party CCM and Karnataka secretary Clifton D’ Rozario is expected to arrive soon. Teams of students from various universities including JNU and Delhi University have also joined campaigns in different constituencies. Among them are many volunteers doing work for the social media campaign.

CPIML leaders and members are attending the campaigns and rallies of INDIA alliance candidates in their respective districts. Senior party leaders are joining and addressing nomination rallies of RJD and other candidates. Comrade Mina Tiwari addressed the Nomination rally for Muzaffarpur and Vaishali candidates of RJD on 29 April.

Nalanda:

Comrade Sandeep Saurav's campaign in Nalanda is getting a lot of warm affection and support from the people looking for change and justice. His door to door campaign is attracting a large number of youth and students along with farmers and rural workers who are fed up with the continued betrayal of promises and consistent absence of the sitting JDU MP. His central election office was inaugurated on 23 April in Bihar Sharif which was attended by the leaders of constituent parties of the alliance and a large number of party cadres and the youth. CPIML Polit Bureau members Dhirendra Jha and Shashi Yadav addressed the people on this occasion. The initiatives taken by Sandip inside and outside the Bihar Assembly are also being appreciated by the people of Nalanda which is apparent from the videos of his speeches made in the Assembly being discussed with enthusiasm among the common folk. Issues of education and unemployment are important for the youth everywhere. RJD spokesperson and ex-MLA Shakti Singh Yadav accompanied him in campaigning in the Hilsa assembly segment.

Sandip Saurav will file his nomination papers on 9 May. He is challenging the BJP which tried to demonise the JNU. He now carries forward that same spirit of JNU to the masses.

Karakat:

The preparations are on for the Mahagathbandhan cadre convention in Dehri Assembly segment to be held on 1 May. Comrade Rajaram Singh is the CPIML and INDIA candidate from here.

A joint Assembly area level cadre convention by INDIA parties was organised in Goh Assembly segment in Karakat parliamentary constituency on 30 April. This was addressed by comrade Dipankar along with leaders of other parties. Comrade Prabhat Kumar and Uttarakhand state secretary Indresh Maikhuri were also present in this convention. Speakers resolved to work hard in unison to completely wipe out the BJP from Bihar in this election.

Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya said in his address that Narendra Modi is desperate to get the job of PM for the third time at the age of 73, but he has made 22 year old youths to retire from the army. This time the country's youth will give him an apt lesson. Jobs are scarce and reservations are in danger under BJP rule, moreover, it is already of no use if the government doesn't advertise new jobs. There is no reservation provision in the private sector where most of the jobs have been contractualized. At the top of bureaucracy the Modi government has made the provision of lateral entry to give space to the candidates recommended by RSS and big corporations. Along with jobs and reservations, another big question is our Constitution which is under a serious threat from the Sangh brigade. In 1949 Ambedkar had warned us that the constitution gives us rights and empower citizens, but in wrong hands this can be misused and would be a disaster. Bhagat Singh, he said, had also warned us regarding the brown sahebs. The Modi and RSS want to impose Manusmriti as the constitution of India. Recently Bibek Debroy, a right-winger and adviser to the Modi government, has said that now is the time to have a new constitution for India. This is upon us to save our Constitution through this important election, which was opposed by Golwalkar and RSS at the time of its adoption.

He said that reports are pouring in from various states that BJP is going to be wiped out completely in the South and will be at half of its present strength in the North. But we should not be content with this and must work hard and relentlessly to give a complete rout to the BJP everywhere.

The BJP is setting newer lows on how to attack and undermine democracy and betray people. This was Chandigarh where a municipal election was stolen in broad daylight, then came another model from Khajuraho, followed by Surat, and now this is Indore. BJP is shamelessly buying the MLAs, candidates and even proposers with the money power as well as threats. Wherever this money power fails like in the case of our members then we face conspiratorial victimisation of our leaders, our comrade Manoj Manzil has been sent to jail in a fabricated case.

Nowadays BJP is busy purchasing elections, election agents and even proposers of the candidates, as it happened in Surat. This party seems to have gone much farther than the One Nation, One Election, towards a state of one nation and zero election, he quipped and said that this only means a dictatorship of corporate-raj of Adanis and Ambanis being imposed by Modi on the nation.

Comrade Dipankar said that we are fighting elections on the issues of the people. Our candidates will surely be victorious, which eventually will be a victory for the farmers, workers, students, women, adivasis and all deprived sections of the whole country.

Modi is desperate and spreading lies. He doesn’t speak on rape incident of Benaras BHU. Neither on Prajwal Revanna whose videos of women’s sexual exploitation are exposed. These are BJP characteristics. He talks about mangal-sutra but is silent on the plight of women who had to sell their ornaments due to lockdown. BJP is now down and we must have to oust it forever and for good.

The filing of Nomination for Rajaram Singh will be on 8 May which will be attended by national leaders of many parties. The Mahagathbandhan unity is strengthening itself at the ground level which must continue towards a complete transformation to a democratic and stronger India.
