AISA organized a dharna at the Muzaffarpur University campus attended by hundreds of students against anarchy in education, privatization and saffronization of education, ever-increasing unemployment and the politics of hate and violence. The following were the demands made at the dharna: regularize academic sessions; guarantee registration of all students; correct huge anomalies in undergraduate results which have left results of 75% students pending; Central University status to Muzaffarpur University; end rampant corruption feudal and criminal dominance in Muzaffarpur University.
Addressing the dharna, AISA State Secretary Shabbir Kumar said that the condition of education in Bihar is dismal, with a huge shortage of teachers, no classes, and massive anomalies in exam results. Prof Arvind Kumar De said that the Modi government is privatizing and handing over education to corporate houses, thereby making it out of reach to the common students. Insaf Manch State President Suraj Kumar said that students must take a leading role in saving democracy, citizens’ rights and the Constitution from fascist forces. The dharna was also addressed by Deepak Kumar, Vikesh Kumar, Rahul Kumar Singh, Azam Hussain, Madhusudan, Ajay Kush, Ajit Kumar, Roshan Kumar, Misa Bharti, Haider Nizami, Aslam Rahmani, Fahad Jaman and Matlubrahman. The dharna was attended by hundreds of students from various colleges.
