COMRADE Jayant Ganguly’s 23rd memorial day was observed on 25 September at Hesalong village in Dadi Block (Hazaribagh District), attended by a large number of Party members and supporters. Senior Com. Kaleshwar Gope hoisted the flag. After a 2-minute silence and garlanding, the memorial meeting began. It was presided over by Com. Kaleshwar Rajwar and conducted by Com. Vinod Kumar. The meeting was addressed by Jharkhand State Secretary Janardan Prasad who said that Com. Jayant Ganguly came from far-away Kolkata and became the voice of the oppressed in this remote area. He played a major role in mobilizing the people of this area against the Mahajan system and exorbitant interest rates, and casteism. We can counter today’s dark times and fascism by walking on the path shown by Com. Jayant Ganguly. He called upon to intensify the struggles among the rural poor and build the Party organization and a politically conscious mass base.
Memorial meetings for Com. Jayant Ganguly were also held at Gola in Ramgarh District and Jaimra in Barkakana.
